PVC Resin SG-8

PVC Resin SG-8

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin appears as a white thermoplastic powder produced by the suspension polymerization process. It is insoluble in water, gasoline, and ethanol, but soluble in ketones, dichloromethane, and aromatic hydrocarbons. PVC resin features good chemical resistance, corrosion resistance, and dielectric properties. With appropriate additives (e.g., plasticizer and stabilizer), it can be converted into a wide range of finished products with tailored physical and mechanical properties. Based on the degree of polymerization, PVC suspension resin is categorized into 8 general grades, ranging from SG-1 to SG-8.

SG-8

SG-8 has an average degree of polymerization of 700 (650-740). Its relatively low molecular weight leads to reduced viscosity and shorter plasticizing time, improving production efficiency. This makes SG-8 particularly suitable for applications requiring high hardness, rigidity and high transparency.
