Epoxidized Soya Bean Oil (ESBO)

ESBO is a widely used, non-toxic auxiliary plasticizer and heat stabilizer for PVC. It is typically used in combination with primary plasticizers to improve flexibility, processability, and cost efficiency. ESBO appears as a light yellow, clear oily liquid at room temperature, soluble in most organic solvents, and slightly soluble in alcohol. It provides good heat and light stability, oil resistance, and water resistance. It can enhance migration resistance when used with polymeric plasticizers, and can generate synergy effects in combination with heat stabilizers.

We offer both Standard Grade and Medical Grade ESBO. The Medical Grade features higher epoxy value and lower POV value, offering enhanced softness and improved surface gloss to finished products.

At temperatures below 10℃, ESBO may become flocculent, opaque, and viscous. This is a reversible physical change and does not affect product quality. The original clear liquid state can be restored by warm water.
